Waterfront Dining Along the Schuylkill River Trail
Located right on the canal on the Mont Clare side of the bridge, Lock 29 Restaurant Mont Clare features locally crafted cocktails, good eats, good company … waterfront dining, lots of TVs for their sports fans, and lots of parking! They have their own pastry chef on staff, so be sure to save room for dessert!

Their French Dip is reported one of their best sellers. Slow-roasted beef, au jus, beer-glazed onions, provolone cheese, and horseradish aioli on a long roll. Nachos are also a fan favorite. Corn tortillas chips, queso and cheddar jack cheese, black beans, fresh pico de gallo, pickled jalapenos, Mexican crema, and guacamole. “Absolutely love this place! My wife is gluten free and they have gluten free rolls so she can eat almost every sandwich on the menu. We split the bourbon bacon burger which was cooked perfect to our liking and had the Cajun dry rub wings. Definitely upgrade to the truffle fries for $2 more. We will be back for sure. Service was excellent. My husband and I ordered two different burgers and split them ( I couldn’t decide which one to order). Both were cooked to perfection. One had deep fried onion rings the other Muschrooms. Both were delicious. Looking forward to going back.
We brought our 2 6-year-old grandchildren to Lock 29 after we saw their Kids Eat Free special advertised on Facebook. They freaking LOVED it! They both got the Kid’s Mac & Cheese with a side of fries and apple sauce, and apple juice to drink. They also got a scoop of vanilla ice cream with chocolate jimmies. They ate every bite of everything … and they are very picky eaters!
When they were done, we asked them on a scale of 1 to 5 what did they think? Our granddaughter shouted out “100 million!” and my grandson agreed and asked if we could come back tomorrow.
We will definitely be back!
